1 — Introduction
Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of figuringoutpolito.com (the “Service”), operated by Figuring Out Polito (the “Owner”). By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Continued use of the Service after any update to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

What Figuring Out Polito is
Figuring Out Polito is an independent educational platform that provides study materials, explanations, and interactive exercises to help students at Politecnico di Torino (and beyond) understand university-level subjects including Mathematical Analysis, Physics, Chemistry, Linear Algebra, Computer Science, Programming, and more.

Figuring Out Polito is an independent student project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way officially connected to Politecnico di Torino or any of its faculties, departments, or representatives. All references to Politecnico di Torino, its courses, and its examinations are for informational and educational purposes only. “Politecnico di Torino” is a registered name of its respective institution.
5 — Accounts
User accounts
Registration
To access certain features of the Service — such as saved progress or personalised content — you must create an Account. When registering you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information, keep your information up to date, and use a valid email address that you own. Authentication is handled by Clerk, Inc. — see our Privacy Policy for details on how your data is processed.
Account security
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential. You must not share your Account with anyone else. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your Account. If you believe your Account has been compromised, contact us immediately at figuringoutpolito@gmail.com.
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate any Account, at our discretion, if we believe the User has violated these Terms or is using the Service in a way that is harmful to others or to us. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you beforehand unless immediate action is required. You may delete your Account at any time by contacting us.
6 — Acceptable Use
What you may and may not do
You agree to use the Service only for lawful, personal, non-commercial study purposes. You must not:

Who owns the content
All Content on the Service — including written explanations, mathematical worked examples, interactive widgets, graphics, and code — is the property of Figuring Out Polito and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access and use the Service for your own private study. This licence does not permit you to:

Content submitted by Users
Submission
The Service allows registered Users to submit User Content, such as reviews or comments about study materials. By submitting User Content, you represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to submit it, that it does not violate the rights of any third party, and that it complies with these Terms and applicable law.
We reserve the right — at our sole discretion — to review, moderate, edit, or remove any User Content at any time, without notice and without liability.
Licence to User Content
By submitting User Content to the Service, you grant the Owner a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sub-licensable, perpetual licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, and distribute such content in any medium or format, in connection with the operation and promotion of the Service. You retain ownership of any intellectual property rights you hold in your User Content — this licence does not transfer ownership.
Responsibility for User Content
The Owner does not endorse any User Content and expressly disclaims all liability in connection with it. You are solely responsible for the User Content you submit and for any consequences of submitting it.
9 — Feedback
Rights to submitted feedback
If you submit ideas, suggestions, or improvement proposals to us — whether by email, via the Service, or through any other channel — you agree that:

- —The Owner may use, implement, and build upon your feedback without any obligation to compensate you or credit you
- —No intellectual property rights are transferred to you by reason of our use of your feedback

All Content on this Service is provided for general educational and informational purposes only. We make no representation that the Content is:

- —Complete or comprehensive
- —Aligned with the current official syllabus of any specific course at Politecnico di Torino or any other institution
- —Up to date with the latest course materials, exam formats, or professor requirements
You should always verify Content against official course materials and consult your professors for authoritative guidance. The Service is a study aid, not a replacement for official course resources.
11 — Results
No guarantee of academic results
Use of this Service does not guarantee any particular academic outcome. We make no representation that studying with our materials will result in passing any examination, achieving any grade, or meeting any academic requirement. We are not responsible for any academic consequences arising from reliance on our Content.

15 — Availability
Service availability
We aim to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may suspend or restrict access — in whole or in part — for maintenance, updates, security reasons, or circumstances beyond our control, without prior notice or liability.
16 — Pricing
Free service & future changes
The Service is currently provided free of charge. The Owner reserves the right to introduce paid features or subscription tiers in the future, or to modify, restrict, or discontinue any feature of the Service.
If any feature that is currently free becomes paid-only, existing Users will be given reasonable advance notice. Nothing in these Terms creates an obligation for the Owner to continue providing the Service free of charge indefinitely.
17 — Warranties
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Owner expressly disclaims all warranties including but not limited to:

Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Owner shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

Since the Service is provided free of charge, the Owner's total liability to any User for any claim arising from these Terms or use of the Service shall not exceed zero euros (€0).
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable Italian law, including liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
19 — Indemnification
User indemnification
The User agrees to indemnify and hold the Owner and its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, agents, co-branders, partners and employees harmless from and against any claim or demand — including but not limited to lawyer's fees and costs — made by any third party due to or in relation with any culpable violation of these Terms, third-party rights or statutory provisions connected to the use of the Service by the User or its affiliates, officers, directors, agents, co-branders, partners and employees to the extent allowed by applicable law.
20 — Age
Minimum age
You must be at least 14 years old to create an Account or use any features of this Service that involve the processing of personal data. By registering, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. This minimum age is set in accordance with the Italian Data Protection Authority's implementation of GDPR Article 8.
21 — Updates
Changes to these Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this document. For significant changes, we will also notify registered Users by email or via a notice on the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes have been published constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
22 — Jurisdiction
Governing law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with Italian law. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Turin, Italy.
